Excellent food! Really taste and you can tell it’s fresh and made from quality stuff. Service is great too. Portions are gigantic, so maybe try to share a dish for two.
We went to the patio yesterday and loved the set-up plus the food and the warm welcome from George & his lovely wife, Angela xxxSue & Guillaume xxx
Great food with tonnes of fresh fruit. Generous portions and everything made to order. Worth a visit if you're in Ottawa though lineups on weekends are quite long.
This is a great place to have breakfast. The food is fantastic. The service is great. Sometimes you even get muffins while waiting in line. If you are not early, you'll often have to wait in line to get in so prepare for that.Last time I was there I had bruschetta scrambled eggs which were amazing. The portion sizes are generous. If you get an omelette, you may have to wait longer for your meal, however, it is a hearty omelette.Definitely worth going to.
Positively wonderful!Stopped in for an early lunch. Lucky to get a table. Place was packed and with good reason. Food was excellent and the service was fantastic thanks to our server, Oaf. Will go there again when we are in the neighborhood.
Great place to eat. There is always a bit of a line but it is worth it. The food is always tasty and the service is great.
My fiance and I save this place for special occasions and come every year on our birthdays! Theres usually a wait on weekends, but that's because the diner is small, and everything is cooked fresh! This diner is absolutely worth the wait if you go early morning/ on the weekend- but the food and service you get is outstanding. And if you so happen to find yourself waiting in line, the head chef/ owner will come out and make sure everyone is alright, and even bring you fresh baked goods. This place holds a very special place in my heart, and we will continue to come for years onward! This gem is absolutely worth visiting over any other breakfast place in Ottawa! Can't wait to go back this weekend for the Fiances birthday!
Great Fresh food. Highly reccomend. House made sausage patties are amazing. Good value huge portions
My favorite breakfast spot! There is always a wait but it is always worth it. The food is all homemade and always fresh. The portions are way bigger then you actually can eat but affordable. Highly recommend it.
This restaurant is wonderful, it s small and dimly lit. It has a chill 80's rocker feel. The food was great, the portions were perfect, the staff were very attentive and friendly. The white and brown bread are baked french in house and delicious. I felt odd at one point when I realized, I was taking my time eating :-O normally I feel rushed and I tend to be in and out within an hour however, I found myself eating slowly with my friend and just enjoying the atmosphere. If your looking for. A great meal, good vibe atmosphere. Go to Baker Street and enjoy the Vibe.
The service is speedy and friendly, the food is delicious and fresh! I always bring friends and family from out of town to Baker Street Cafe. I would highly recommend it.
Baker Street Cafe - Amazing place. We were there at 9:30 morning in the victoria day long weekend. There was already a lineup there, about ten customer ahead of us. The chef/owner brought out some muffin for customer to taste. The atmosphere was welcoming and we were seated in notime. The food were very very good. Staff was very welcoming with a smile. The food were freshly made , sided with fresh fruit( at least 6 different type). A must to go restaurant. Will come again when in ottawa.
This was my first time eating here and it was AMAZING!!! I was blown away by the quality and quantity of the food because was PERFECT!! I ordered 2 eggs, no meat served with home fries, toast and fresh fruits *with pancakes. The home fries are home made using REAL potatoes; it was fried with onions, green & red bell peppers and seasoned to perfection! I can tell the fruits are freshly cut the day of. My fruit bowl had a variety of sliced fruits: strawberries, raspberries, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, bananas, blueberries, and pineapple. The pancakes are fluffy and is a delicious complement to my meal. The restaurant is clean and has fast/friendly service. The restaurant is a bit small and theres usually a 5-30min wait time for a table (depends on the day & time you go at) BUT after my experience it is worth it! Also there is free street parking available for 90 minuets. Overall I recommend this wonderful cafe to family and friends!
Food was amazing and gigantic portions also good. A bit expensive. Service was slow too. The place is small so it has a bit of a wait. The baked oneletteres were huge and delicious but take 25 minutes to cook
We drove from Toronto just for brunch at this lively and friendly restaurant. Out of this world experience. Amazing food and prices. You enjoy food more, when everyone around you is enjoying too ! Be prepared to wait, but strongly recommended.
Out of this world breakfast in a casual setting. Baby back ribs with eggs for breakfast? Yes please! There's always a wait but patience is a virtue and you will be well rewarded. Super friendly service with owner on premise. Just do it!
I liked the place. The service was fast. The food is tasty and the portions are big. Rather expensive, but I don’t regret visiting this place.
Always delicious, always worth the wait (if you go at peak time). We went this morning and it was so wonderful to be back! George and his team are very talented and it shows in everything they do.
The food is pretty tasty. The staff is very friendly! The portions are a good size for the price. This place is always busy, so prepare for a wait.
Warm, slow rock tunes play in the background as you realize you walked into a rock time capsule. Ask for coffee and you get a whole pot to yourself, awesome! I ordered their small standard breakfast. Much more food than I thought and love the addition of fresh fruit. I arrived early and within minutes the place filled, on a Wednesday! So it is a popular spot. I didn’t wait long for my food but did take note that everything was fresh and made to order. A pleasant surprise discovery today and I will definitely make this a regular spot whenever I am in this part of Ottawa.
A place that gives generous portions and is busy for a reason. Friend got the ribs breakfast and I got the eggs Benny. Both were amazing
Massive portions. Bread was super fresh and light even for whole wheat! I loved that not only did fruit come with my breakfast but so did a mini salad of tomatoes & lettuce! I ordered the mushroom portebello Benny with home fries and a bruschetta mix. Great flavours. Also it was pretty much a gluten free dish so that was great! We were staying in the area and came on a weekday morning so there was no line!! Be prepared to wait if you go on a weekend as everything is made fresh. Cinnamon buns looked amazing and massive.
I'm yet to eat here, but I know I'm going to love it. Waited at the door for 45min, I think, and then got seated. Orders often take 20min, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. Shall edit once I've gobbled my sandwich up. Hold tight! *wink*
Comfort food and heartwarming service. Totally worth the wait!
Amazing food! Lots of options to choose from. Excellent service and atmosphere. It is very busy , so many sure you go early
Nice spot, very good breakfast food. Can get pretty busy so plan ahead. Good time to go for lunch as it closes at 3PM on weekends.
Very nice casual breakfast place. The serve good food and coffee. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The couch seats are pretty comfortable although a little low.
First time here - glad I sucked it up and spent 15 minutes trying to find parking. The food was delicious and big portions. The pricing is accurate to the location. Would come here again, super nice staff. Can't go wrong with a complimentary cookie after you're already so full haha.
Would give 5 stars However the waiting for a table is what ruins what would be otherwise a 5 star experience. The entrance is tiny and the waiting can be long, often need to squeeze to let other people through and once you get past the entrance you are standing right next to the clientele to look at them eat. Once the wait is over though the food is great and the staff is friendly
My wife and I had a delicious lunch at Baker Street Cafe! I ordered a custom panini with a side salad and the portion size of each blew me away! I walked away feeling full and still had half the sandwich in a takeout container to enjoy later. The atmosphere was cozy with lots of different seating options (we had a couch and lounge chair). The breads are all homemade and the taste is evident (so delicious)!! Worth a visit if you're in Ottawa.
Good service and good value for your money. A nice local diner if you are looking for a quick brunch, although there are some better choices nearby.
I was surprised when i first came in, the place is very warm and looks very artistic.Food is more than wonderful, even coffee is really good.I highly recommend you try this place and I'm sure it's going to become one of your favorite places in the city
They have really nice staff who make you very welcomed. The food was really good we tried the Smoked meat and also the steak they were both really good. The egg Benedict was really good.
Best brunch in the city.
I changed my rating from 5 to 3 stars, because every time we come here while the food is alright, the wait time is artificially slow on purpose so that there's always a lineup. They don't turn over tables fast on purpose, and there are 4-5 empty tables at any time even when there are people outside waiting.Otherwise the service speed is good after being seated, and if you order coffee they leave a large carafe so you can easily refill very fast~
Huge portions and fresh ingredients. There's usually a wait to get in but the food is definitely worth it. Wonderful customer service everyone is so friendly they'll often come out with a tray of mini muffins for the people waiting in the line to get in :)
The food is delicious and they make their own bread fresh in house! You can even take a loaf home, white or whole wheat, for only $5. They also have giant cinnamon buns and I love that they have large servings of fruit with their meals. You can go healthy or indulge, whatever your heart desires Baker Street Cafe has you covered.
Amazing brunch (lunch menu starts at 11am)! Great quality and portions. Busy and lively, but didn't have to wait long for a table.
You better be hungry as this place serves big delicious brunch. The service is good and fast and more importantly the dish was hot. I had the eggs "beni" style and the fruit that accompanies the meal is a delicious bonus. We were stuffed and then they offer us a chocolate chip cookie which we declined.
Very homey place for breakfast. Great choices. A bit on the $$ side but still worth to try!
One Sunday morning when we were visiting Ottawa, me and 4 of my friends went here for brunch after hearing great reviews about them. It was crowded and took 15-20 mins to get a table but they were very sweet and offered us small house made muffins and apologized for the long wait time. That was one good customer experience I have had in the recent times. When it came to food we were totally impressed by the quantity and the quality of the food. They were fresh and tasty. Every dish had a bowl of fresh fruits and berries which was a nice and healthy too. We were very happy to have tried this place and would enjoy coming here the next time we visit Ottawa😁
One of my favorite brunch places in Ottawa. Always a long wait unless you go in the middle of the day or at off hours from Mon-Thur. Quality food, and a cute atmosphere. Quite small inside, and tables are close together, but still lovely.
Went for lunch and had the burger. It was really good... especially the onions and mushrooms they put on it. Also the fries were perfect. Everything was perfect.
It was my first time there and I couldn’t be more impressed with the quality of food. Their homemade bread is so fresh. The staff is really welcoming and accommodating. My friend and I ordered two plates to share between us and they split both of them so we don’t have to go through the trouble of splitting it ourselves. Great presentation too! My new go-to breakfast spot.
Lovely place to grab an 8 am outdoor breakfast.
We enjoyed a fabulous brunch here today! Do not leave without tasting one of their incredible cinnamon buns :) Portions are generous, service is friendly, and the vibe is great. Loved it.
I have to say that this is the best brunch I have ever had in my life. Great ambience, very cozy and warm. They serve you an entire jar of coffee, not like usual brunch place. I was so happy that their sausage was not regular morning sausages. It was the best! Also ham was pretty amazing too. My bf ordered their make your own wrap thing, it was the best wrap I’ve ever had... We had to wait for a Monday noon, but it was worth it. In fact, it’s worth the 2 hours drive from Montreal to this place lol. It’s a bit pricey compared to other chains but it’s THE BEST!
Fantastic breakfast, homemade bread, staff are great, coffee carafes at the table so need to wait for your fix for a coffee lover like me, awesowner is a really nice guy, great ambiance.
Worth the wait.Its a must in ottawa.Serious.
Went for breakfast. A short wait of about 15 minutes was well worth it. Mini muffins were offered to us whole we waited. I had the eggs Florentine and my wife had eggs Benedict. Good size portions, freshly made and very tasty. One of the best breakfasts we have ever had. A full pot of coffee for each table is an added bonus. We will be back.
